How to Make Same Day Focaccia
- Combine warm water, active dry yeast, and sugar in a bowl; let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, mix all-purpose flour and salt together. Pour in the yeast mixture along with olive oil; stir until you have a sticky dough.
- Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm area until it doubles in size, about 1 hour.
- Transfer the risen dough onto an oiled baking sheet. Stretch it into about a 1-inch thickness and create dimples using your fingertips.
- Drizzle olive oil over the dough and sprinkle with sea salt and fresh herbs.
- Allow the dough to rest for 20 minutes while preheating your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until the edges are golden and the bread is crispy.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before cutting. Serve warm.
