Dough Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 tablespoon of instant yeast, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt until perfectly blended.
- Heat 1/2 cup of milk and 1/4 cup of butter in a saucepan until just warm, then gently mix into the dry ingredients until combined.
- Add 2 large eggs to the mixture, stirring to form a soft dough. Knead for 5-10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Roll out the risen dough to about 1/2 inch thickness. Cut into rounds and let them rise again for 30 minutes until puffy.
Frying and Finishing
- In a deep pan, heat oil to 350°F. Carefully fry the doughnuts, flipping them until they are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes each side.
- Allow the fried doughnuts to cool on a wire rack. Once cooled, fill each with Bavarian cream and dust lightly with powdered sugar.
