Ingredients

For the Patties
  • 1 pound Ground Chicken Leaner than beef
  • 1 large Egg Can substitute with flaxseed meal for a vegan option
  • 1 cup Plain Bread Crumbs Use gluten-free bread crumbs for a gluten-free option
  • 2 tablespoons Ranch Seasoning Mix Store-bought or homemade
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced; garlic powder can be used as a substitute
  • 0.5 cup Onion Finely diced; use green onions for a milder taste
  • 0.5 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese Try pepper jack for a spicy twist
For Toppings
  • 6 pieces Buns Soft brioche or whole grain
  • 6 slices Bacon Swap for turkey bacon for a healthier option
  • 1 cup Lettuce Any leafy green works well
  • 1 cup Tomatoes Sliced
  • 0.5 cup Ranch Dressing Greek yogurt can be used for a lighter option

Equipment

  • Skillet or Grill

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, egg, breadcrumbs, ranch seasoning, minced garlic, diced onion, and shredded cheddar. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into equal-sized patties, around 6 in total, making a slight indentation in the center.
  3. Preheat your skillet or grill over medium heat. Cook each patty for about 6-8 minutes per side until browned and cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F.
  4. While patties are cooking, fry the bacon until crispy, slice the tomatoes, and wash the lettuce. Optionally, toast the buns.
  5. Assemble burgers: place each patty on the bottom bun, layer with bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, and drizzle with ranch dressing.

Expert tips include not overmixing, chilling patties for firmness, and avoiding pressing down on cooking patties to retain moisture.
