Ingredients
  

For the Chicken
  • 1 pound Breaded Chicken Breast Chunks Can substitute with chicken nuggets or popcorn chicken.
For the Waffles
  • 6 pieces Frozen Homestyle Waffles Any brand will do, but traditional waffles work best.
For the Butter Mixture
  • 4 tablespoons Salted Butter Unsalted can be used for lower sodium.
  • 1/4 cup Maple Syrup Experiment with flavored syrups if desired.
For Serving
  • 1/4 cup Additional Maple Syrup Optional for drizzling on skewers.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F and grease a rimmed baking sheet.
  2. Arrange the breaded chicken breast chunks on one side of the baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes.
  3. Prepare the waffles by cutting each frozen waffle into 9 pieces and setting them aside.
  4. Mix the salted butter and maple syrup in a small bowl, then microwave until melted.
  5. Shift the chicken to one side of the baking sheet after 12 minutes, and place the waffle pieces on the other side.
  6. Brush the waffles with the melted butter and syrup mixture.
  7. Bake for an additional 2-3 minutes or until the waffles turn golden brown and the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  8. Assemble by threading one piece of chicken and one piece of waffle onto mini skewers.
  9. Serve warm, drizzling extra maple syrup over the top.
