How to Make Homemade Beef Stew
- Season the beef chuck roast by generously sprinkling kosher salt and black pepper over the chunks.
- Dredge the seasoned beef in gluten-free flour until well-coated.
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
- Brown the beef in the pot on all sides for about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot; sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the carrot and potatoes, mixing them well with the beef and onion combination.
- Pour in the beef broth, then add the tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and bay leaf.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, then cover the pot and reduce the heat to low.
- Cook for several hours, around 2-3 hours, until the beef is fork-tender.
- Garnish with fresh thyme leaves before serving.
