  • 28 ounces Crushed Tomatoes Opt for low-sodium.
  • 4 cups Beef Broth Can use vegetable broth for a lighter version.
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano Can swap with Italian seasoning.
For the Ravioli
  • 20 ounces Refrigerated Cheese Ravioli Four-cheese ravioli recommended.
For the Sauce
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Can substitute with half-and-half.
  • to taste Salt Adjust to taste.
  • to taste Pepper Adjust to taste.
For Topping
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese Optional topping.
  • to taste Fresh Basil Optional, for garnish.

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage and ground beef for about 5 minutes, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add olive oil and onion to the skillet; sauté until the onion is softened and translucent, about 4 minutes.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and let it cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Return the cooked meats to the skillet; pour in the crushed tomatoes and beef broth. Season with oregano, salt, and pepper; bring the mixture to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat and cover, letting it simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. In a separate pot, cook ravioli according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  7. Gently add the drained ravioli to the soup base along with the heavy cream and freshly chopped basil. Stir and heat for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  8. Ladle the creamy soup into bowls, garnishing with grated Parmesan cheese and extra basil.
