  • 2 cups whole milk

  • 1/2 cup Irish whiskey
  • 6 cups day-old French bread cubed
  • 1/2 cup raisins plus more for topping

  • 1 tablespoon Irish whiskey

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 1/4 cup of unsalted butter.
  3. Whisk together 2 cups of milk, 1/2 cup of sugar, 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon of nutmeg until smooth.
  4. Stir in 1/2 cup of Irish whiskey and 6 cups of cubed day-old French bread.
  5. Gently fold in 1/2 cup of raisins and allow to sit for 10 minutes.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake for 45-50 minutes.
Irish Whiskey Sauce
  1. In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, mix 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon of Irish whiskey, and 2 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream until melted and smooth.
  2. Drizzle the warm Irish whiskey sauce over the baked pudding before serving.
