How to Make Crescent Pumpkins with Cream Cheese
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, canned pumpkin purée, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough on a floured surface. Pinch the seams together and cut the dough into squares.
  3. Place 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each dough square. Fold the corners over the filling and shape into balls.
  4. In a small bowl, beat the egg and mix in orange food coloring if using. Brush over each “pumpkin”.
  5. Arrange on a lined baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before adding a pretzel stick or green candy for the stem.
