How to Make Monte Cristo Breakfast Casserole
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Cut the bread into cubes and layer half of them at the bottom of your prepared baking dish.
- Layer the sliced ham on top of the bread, followed by half of the shredded Swiss cheese.
- Whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, mustard, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Pour half of the egg mixture evenly over the first layers of bread, ham, and cheese.
- Repeat layering with the remaining bread, ham, and cheese. Pour the rest of the egg mixture on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
