Baking Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch cake pans.
- In a bowl, whisk together the cake flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar for about 3 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs, one at a time, along with pure vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Gradually mix in your dry ingredients, alternating with whole milk.
- Divide the batter into three bowls. Color one portion with red gel food coloring, another with blue, and keep the last one white.
- Spoon the different colored batters into the prepared pans in alternating layers and gently swirl them together.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool completely in their pans before removing.
- Make the frosting using powdered sugar and heavy cream, then frost between the layers and on top.
