How to Make Sombrero Cookies
- Prepare the icing by whipping up your buttercream icing until it's light and fluffy. Once ready, fill your disposable pastry bag and carefully snip the tip for easier piping.
- Gently squeeze the pastry bag to pipe a circle of icing around the edge of each sugar cookie, adding a small dot in the center for the gumdrop.
- Flip the cookie upside down and dip it into a dish of rainbow nonpareils, ensuring the icing is completely covered.
- Carefully flip the cookie back to its upright position and apply a small dot of icing at the base of your gumdrop.
- Place the gumdrop on top of the dot of icing in the center to complete your sombrero look.
