  • 1 piece Disposable Pastry Bag No substitutes necessary.
For the Topping
  • 1 cup Gumdrops Try using chewy candy or marzipan for variation.
For the Icing
  • 1 cup Buttercream Icing Can use store-bought or homemade; vanilla or flavored icing works well.

Method
 

How to Make Sombrero Cookies
  1. Prepare the icing by whipping up your buttercream icing until it's light and fluffy. Once ready, fill your disposable pastry bag and carefully snip the tip for easier piping.
  2. Gently squeeze the pastry bag to pipe a circle of icing around the edge of each sugar cookie, adding a small dot in the center for the gumdrop.
  3. Flip the cookie upside down and dip it into a dish of rainbow nonpareils, ensuring the icing is completely covered.
  4. Carefully flip the cookie back to its upright position and apply a small dot of icing at the base of your gumdrop.
  5. Place the gumdrop on top of the dot of icing in the center to complete your sombrero look.
  6. Admire your festive creation, then share and enjoy your delightful Sombrero Cookies.
