How to Make Dulce de Leche Banana Bread
- Prepare Dulce de Leche: If you're making it homemade, open a can of condensed milk and heat it in a pot over low heat for about 3 hours, stirring occasionally, until it's beautifully caramelized.
- Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bread loaf pan to prevent sticking.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas, then add melted butter, sour cream, milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and dulce de leche. Mix until everything is smooth and well combined.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Incorporate Mixtures: Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula until just combined.
- Add Nuts: Gently fold in the chopped macadamia nuts.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60-65 minutes.
- Cool: Once baked, let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
