Preparation
- In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, spring onions, shiitake mushrooms, minced garlic, ginger, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sugar, black pepper, and optional MSG. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- In a 7"x9" heatproof dish, spread 1/3 of the meat filling evenly. Place 9 dumpling wrappers on top, followed by another layer of the meat filling, and repeat with the wrappers until all ingredients are used. Pour 75ml of water over the final layer for steaming.
- Carefully place the dish in a steaming basket over a pot of boiling water. Cover and steam on high heat for about 17 minutes, until the dumpling wrappers are wrinkled and thoroughly cooked through.
- While the dumpling lasagna is steaming, whisk together tahini, sugar, soy sauce, lime juice, sesame oil, and minced garlic in a separate bowl until smooth and well-combined.
- Once the steaming is complete, gently remove the dish from the steamer. Drizzle with the prepared tahini sauce, add a touch of chili oil for spice, and garnish with sliced chives and sesame seeds before serving. Enjoy this delightful dish hot!
