Ingredients
  

For the Patties
  • 1 lb Ground Beef 80/20 fat content for juiciness
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning or mix of dried basil, oregano, and garlic powder
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil for cooking patties
For the Toppings
  • 1 cup Marinara Sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 8 oz Mozzarella Cheese for melting
  • 4 pieces Burger Buns toasted
  • to taste Pepperoni optional, for pizza flavor
  • to taste Black Olives optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, gently combine ground beef with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Shape the mixture into four patties about ¾ inch thick.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet or on a grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
  3. Spoon marinara sauce generously on each patty and top off with slices of mozzarella cheese. Cover and let it cook for 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts.
  4. Brush burger buns lightly with olive oil and toast them in a pan or oven until golden and crisp.
  5. Place each patty on the bottom half of the bun and add your favorite toppings. Cap with the top bun and serve immediately.
