Preparation Steps
- In a mixing bowl, gently combine the all-purpose flour, carrom seeds, salt, ghee, yogurt, sugar, and yeast. Mix well to ensure even distribution of flavors.
- Gradually add warm water to the mixture and knead until a smooth, elastic dough forms—about 8-10 minutes. The dough should feel soft yet not sticky.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth, and allow it to rest in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
- After rising, punch down the dough to release air. Shape it into small balls, then flatten each ball gently with your hands to create discs.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the flattened dough. Fry until the Bhaturas puff up and turn golden brown—about 1-2 minutes each side.
- Remove the fried Bhaturas using a slotted spoon, letting the excess oil drain off onto paper towels.
