For the Dough
  • 500 grams All-Purpose Flour or gluten-free flour
  • 75 grams Sugar or coconut sugar
  • 10 grams Instant Yeast fresh yeast for best results
  • 250 milliliters Milk (lukewarm) almond or oat milk for dairy-free
  • 1 large Egg or unsweetened applesauce for vegan
  • 80 grams Butter (melted) or coconut oil for dairy-free
For the Cream Filling
  • 300 milliliters Heavy Whipping Cream or coconut cream for dairy-free
  • 50 grams Sugar (for whipping cream) or powdered sugar for smoother texture
  • Condensed Milk optional for extra sweetness
For Dusting
  • 100 grams Powdered Sugar or cinnamon-sugar blend for twist

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the lukewarm milk, egg, and melted butter until smooth and well combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk the all-purpose flour, sugar, and instant yeast together until fluffy.
  3. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing until a slightly sticky dough forms.
  4. Transfer the dough to a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1.5 to 2 hours.
  5. Move the dough to a floured surface and roll it out to about ¼ inch thickness.
  6. Use a round cutter to create donut shapes and let them rise for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  7. Preheat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 170-180°C (340-360°F).
  8. Carefully fry the donuts in small batches for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  9. In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream and sugar together until stiff peaks form.
  10. Allow the fried donuts to cool completely and then cut a pocket for the filling.
  11. Fill each donut with whipped cream and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
