How to Make Gorditas
- In a mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of Maseca masa harina with a good pinch of salt.
- Gradually pour in about 2 ¼ cups of water while mixing with your hands.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal portions, shaping each into a small ball.
- Preheat a comal or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Roll each dough portion into a ball and then flatten it between two plastic sheets.
- Place each gordita on the hot griddle and cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side.
- Immediately cut a slit in each cooked gordita while they are still warm.
- Fill each gordita with your desired fillings and serve.
