- Prepare the syrup: Combine the sugar, water, lemon juice, cardamom pods, and saffron in a pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Mix the batter: In a bowl, combine the Gulab Jamun mix and fresh cream, stirring until you have a smooth batter.
- Preheat your oven: Set your oven according to the instructions on the kunafa dough package.
- Layer the kunafa: In a baking dish, spread half of the kunafa dough, then pour melted butter over it.
- Add the Gulab Jamun mixture: Carefully spread the mixture on top of the first layer of kunafa.
- Top it off: Finish layering with the remaining kunafa dough and pour more melted butter on top.
- Bake to perfection: Bake according to the kunafa dough package instructions until golden brown.
- Soak it in syrup: Once baked, pour the prepared syrup generously over the hot kunafa.
- Garnish with flair: Sprinkle finely chopped pistachios on top before serving.
