  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Fresh minced garlic can also shine here.
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder Use fresh onion for a fresher taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper Adjust to your taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Kosher salt is a great alternative.
  • 1 cup Sour Cream Greek yogurt is a lower-fat alternative.

Equipment

  • large skillet
  • pot for boiling noodles

Method

Cooking Steps
  1. Boil egg noodles in salted water according to the package instructions, usually around 7-9 minutes, until al dente. Once done, drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat over medium heat and add ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, and drain excess fat.
  3. Add butter to the skillet with the browned beef. Once melted, whisk in flour and stir for about 2 minutes until lightly golden.
  4. Gradually whisk in beef broth, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Allow the sauce to thicken for about 3-4 minutes, then add milk.
  5. Sprinkle in garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and salt. Mix well to blend flavors.
  6. Lower the heat and fold in the cooked noodles and browned beef into the creamy sauce. Stir for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Fold in the sour cream just before serving until fully incorporated.
  8. Dish out the Hamburger Stroganoff onto plates and enjoy it immediately.
