  • 1 large Egg beaten for brushing
For the Filling
  • 1 wheel Brie cheese room temperature
  • 4 tablespoons Honey for drizzling
  • 4 tablespoons Fig preserves for spreading
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh thyme leaves for seasoning
  • 1 pinch Black pepper for optional seasoning
Optional Toppings
  • 2 tablespoons Coarse sugar for sprinkling
  • 1/2 cup Chopped walnuts or pecans for additional crunch

Method
 

Preparing the Brie
  1. Preheat your oven following the puff pastry package instructions.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry gently on a floured surface.
  3. Position the Brie cheese right in the center of the puff pastry.
  4. Drizzle honey generously over the Brie cheese.
  5. Spread fig preserves on top of the Brie.
  6. Sprinkle fresh thyme leaves over the preserves.
  7. Optional: Add a dash of black pepper.
  8. Fold the pastry over the Brie, ensuring to seal the edges carefully.
  9. Brush the pastry with the beaten egg.
  10. Optional: Sprinkle coarse sugar on top.
  11. Place chopped walnuts or pecans on top if you’re using them.
  12. Bake in the preheated oven until the pastry is golden brown and puffed, typically around 20-25 minutes.
