  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract or almond extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt to taste

  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips or Nuts optional for added texture

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Gently mix in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  3. Gradually add the all-purpose flour, stirring until just combined.
  4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the chilled dough into rounds or use cookie cutters.
  6. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  7. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  8. Optional: Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
