How to Make French Onion Ground Beef Casserole
  1. Prepare the egg noodles according to the package instructions until al dente, then drain them well to remove excess moisture.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook it until fully browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked noodles, browned beef, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, onion soup mix, Sherry (if using), and Worcestershire sauce. Stir together until well-mixed.
  4. Pour the flavorful mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  5. Sprinkle the Gruyere cheese evenly over the top, followed by the crispy French's fried onions.
  6. Place the baking dish in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C). Bake for 30-35 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
