Ingredients

For the Pancake Batter
  • 2.5 tbsp melted salted butter Adds a rich flavor; make sure it’s not too hot when mixing in to avoid cooking the egg.
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda Helps the pancakes rise, giving them a fluffy texture.
  • 1 tsp baking powder A must for light, airy pancakes; don’t skip this for the perfect lift!
  • 1 cup milk Use whole milk for creaminess, but any milk will do if you’re in a pinch.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour The base for our pancakes; make sure to sift for a smoother batter.
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring Essential for that gorgeous red hue; adjust to your desired vibrancy!
  • 1.5 tbsp cocoa powder Brings a subtle chocolate flavor that complements the sweetness.
  • 0.25 cup sugar Balances the flavors; feel free to substitute with a sweetener of your choice.
  • 0.25 tsp salt Just a pinch enhances all the other flavors in these delightful pancakes.
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar Reacts with the baking soda to create fluffiness; it’s the secret ingredient!
  • 1 pinch vanilla powder A hint of vanilla infuses a lovely aroma and taste; it’s worth it!
  • 1 large egg Binds everything together while adding moisture.
For the Cream Cheese Glaze
  • 3 tbsp light cream Adds richness and creaminess; half-and-half makes a delicious substitute as well.
  • 3 oz cream cheese The star of the glaze; ensure it’s softened for easy mixing!
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter Use at room temperature for a smooth consistency in your glaze.
  • 1.25 cups powdered sugar Sweetens the glaze beautifully; sift it to avoid lumps.
  • 1 pinch vanilla powder A pinch enhances the overall flavor, echoing the batter's notes.
