Preparation
- Cut beef into chunks, season generously with salt and pepper, and sear in a pot over medium-high heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pot, sauté the chopped onions and diced carrots for about 5-7 minutes until softened.
- Add the browned beef back into the pot, sprinkle with flour, and pour in the stout. Stir well and let it simmer for 1.5 hours on low heat.
- Pour the savory filling into a baking dish. Cover with puff pastry, seal the edges tightly, and cut small vents on top.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
