How to Make Matcha Danishes
  1. Whip the softened cream cheese in a mixing bowl until fluffy, then fold in the sifted matcha powder, heavy cream, and powdered sugar. Transfer to a piping bag.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper. Roll out the cold puff pastry and cut into rectangles.
  3. Lightly carve a border around each pastry rectangle, about half an inch from the edges.
  4. Brush the edges of each rectangle with a beaten egg and sprinkle granulated sugar over the edges.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Let them cool for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  6. Melt your choice of chocolate chips for decoration; mix with food coloring for accents. Allow to set before serving.
