  • 0.5 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 0.5 teaspoon kosher salt

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the crust ingredients by combining 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, 1 cup powdered sugar, and 1 cup unsalted butter in a bowl.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking dish to form a solid crust.
  4. Bake the crust for about 15-20 minutes or until it’s lightly golden.
  5. Blend the filling by mixing 1 cup unsalted butter, 2 cups cream cheese, and 1 cup powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
  6. Incorporate 4 large eggs and 2 large egg yolks, adding each one individually.
  7. Stir in 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste, 1 tablespoon orange zest, and 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt.
  8. Pour the creamy filling over the baked crust, spreading it evenly.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set but still has a slight jiggle in the center.
  10. Cool the bars completely in the pan before slicing into squares to serve.
