- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine prepared mashed potatoes, sour cream, cream cheese, minced chives, and garlic powder in a large bowl. Mix until smooth.
- Transfer the potato mixture into a greased 2-quart casserole dish, spreading it evenly.
- Mix breadcrumbs and melted butter in a separate bowl, then sprinkle over the potato mixture.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and top with shredded cheddar cheese. Return to the oven until the cheese melts.
