Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, egg, panko breadcrumbs, A1 sauce, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, steak seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix thoroughly and form into 4 patties, about ¾ to 1 inch thick.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a bit of oil if needed. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side until they’re nicely browned and fully cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté the thinly sliced onions for about 5 minutes until they become translucent. Scrape up any brown bits from the bottom for extra flavor!
- Stir in the flour, cooking for 1 minute to achieve a light brown color. Gradually whisk in beef broth while stirring, allowing it to simmer and thicken. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they’re tender, about 3-4 minutes.
- Return the cooked patties to the skillet. Spoon the savory gravy over them, letting everything simmer together for a few minutes to meld those delicious flavors.
