Ingredients
  

For the Swirls
  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry Store-bought or homemade.
  • 2 cups Fresh Spinach Can substitute with thawed frozen spinach.
  • 1 cup Artichokes Canned or jarred, avoid marinated.
  • 1 cup Shredded Parmesan Cheese Substitute with grated Asiago or Pecorino Romano.
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese You can use mascarpone or goat cheese.
  • 1/4 cup Mayonnaise Greek yogurt can be a lighter substitute.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced; adjust to taste.
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Fresh Cracked Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes Omit if sensitive to heat.
  • 1 egg Egg (for Egg Wash) Use a plant-based egg wash for vegan option.

Method
 

How to Make Spinach Artichoke Swirls
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and thaw the puff pastry on the counter.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together fresh spinach, chopped artichokes, shredded Parmesan, cream cheese, mayonnaise, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Cut the puff pastry sheet in half and spread the spinach artichoke filling on one half.
  4. Place the other half of puff pastry on top and gently press to seal, then cut into 6 strips.
  5. Twist each strip into a swirl, tucking the ends underneath, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Brush the tops with egg wash for a lovely golden color.
  7. Bake in the oven for about 25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
