  • 100 g Chocolate Chips use vegan chocolate for a dairy-free option
  • 100 g Chopped Chocolate or Chocolate Chunks enhances texture and flavor
For the Icing
  • 125 g Icing Sugar powdered sugar is key for achieving the right glaze consistency
  • Food Coloring (green) any color can be used based on your preference
  • Candy Eyes fun decoration to create the 'monster' effect

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 170°C (340°F, convection).
  2. Combine sugar and eggs in a mixing bowl. Beat with a whisk or kitchen machine until frothy, approximately 3-5 minutes.
  3. Mix in the melted butter, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, vanilla paste, and crème fraîche until smooth.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips and chunks gently.
  5. Grease the gugelhupf pan thoroughly with butter or non-stick spray. Pour in the batter and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 50 minutes. Test the center with a toothpick; it should come out clean when done.
  7. Cool for 15 minutes in the pan before inverting onto a plate. Allow to cool completely before decorating.
  8. Prepare the icing by mixing icing sugar with water and green food coloring.
  9. Decorate the cooled cake with the green icing and candy eyes.
