How to Make Slow Cooker Chicken Shawarma
- In a large bowl, whisk together olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, smoked paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, salt, pepper, and lemon juice until well combined.
- Add the boneless, skinless chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are coated thoroughly. For best taste, let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Place sliced red onion at the bottom of your slow cooker, then arrange the marinated chicken thighs on top.
- Cover the slow cooker and set it to low. Cook for about 4 hours or until the chicken is tender and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Once cooked, remove the chicken from the slow cooker. Use two forks to shred or slice the chicken as preferred.
- Serve warm with pita, fresh veggies, and your favorite sauces.
