How to Make Slow Cooker Chicken Shawarma
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, smoked paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, salt, pepper, and lemon juice until well combined.
  2. Add the boneless, skinless chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are coated thoroughly. For best taste, let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Place sliced red onion at the bottom of your slow cooker, then arrange the marinated chicken thighs on top.
  4. Cover the slow cooker and set it to low. Cook for about 4 hours or until the chicken is tender and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  5. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the slow cooker. Use two forks to shred or slice the chicken as preferred.
  6. Serve warm with pita, fresh veggies, and your favorite sauces.
