  • 1 teaspoon Ground Ginger fresh ginger for intensified flavor
For Cooking
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable Oil any neutral oil can be substituted
  • 3 cloves Garlic use fresh for best results
  • 1 pound Ground Beef alternatives include ground turkey, chicken, pork, or plant-based meat
For Topping
  • 2 scallions Green Onions adds freshness and color
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds optional garnish

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, reduced sodium soy sauce, sesame oil, crushed red-pepper flakes, and ground ginger.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, crumbling it as it cooks. Brown for about 3-5 minutes until fully cooked.
  4. Pour in your sauce mixture along with chopped green onions. Stir to combine all flavors and let simmer for an additional 2 minutes.
  5. Serve immediately, garnished with extra green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
