Cooking Steps
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for baking the chicken to perfection.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Once done, drain the excess fat and crumble the bacon for topping.
- Rub both sides of your chicken breasts with olive oil. Season them with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high and sear your seasoned chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and halfway cooked.
- Lower the heat to medium, pour BBQ sauce over the chicken, and top with crumbled bacon and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted.
- Sprinkle with chopped green onions and optional red pepper flakes. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
