Method

How to Make Spicy Voodoo Shrimp
  1. Begin by marinating the shrimp in Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and cayenne. Let it sit while you prepare other ingredients.
  2. In a spacious skillet, melt butter with olive oil. Sauté the onions, bell peppers, and celery for 5-7 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds.
  3. Stir in the tomato paste and cook for a minute. Add thyme, oregano, and stock. Bring to a simmer, adding hot sauce; let it thicken for 5-7 minutes.
  4. In a separate skillet, heat olive oil and sear shrimp for 2-3 minutes each side until pink and opaque. Combine with sauce and simmer briefly.
  5. Spoon shrimp and sauce over rice or grits. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
