How to Make Spicy Voodoo Shrimp
- Begin by marinating the shrimp in Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and cayenne. Let it sit while you prepare other ingredients.
- In a spacious skillet, melt butter with olive oil. Sauté the onions, bell peppers, and celery for 5-7 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds.
- Stir in the tomato paste and cook for a minute. Add thyme, oregano, and stock. Bring to a simmer, adding hot sauce; let it thicken for 5-7 minutes.
- In a separate skillet, heat olive oil and sear shrimp for 2-3 minutes each side until pink and opaque. Combine with sauce and simmer briefly.
- Spoon shrimp and sauce over rice or grits. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
