How to Make Sloppy Joe Garlic Bread
- Preheat Oven & Prepare Sheet: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice & Spread: Carefully slice the French bread lengthwise. In a small bowl, combine softened butter, garlic salt, and Italian seasoning. Generously spread this buttery mixture onto each half of the bread.
- Brown the Beef: In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once it’s no longer pink, add in chopped onions, bell peppers, and minced garlic; cook until softened, about 4-5 minutes, and drain any excess fat.
- Mix the Sauce: To the beef mixture, stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and your spices. Allow this to simmer uncovered for 6-8 minutes until thickened and bubbling gently.
- Top & Bake: Spoon the savory meat mixture evenly over the garlic bread halves. Sprinkle a generous layer of mozzarella and cheddar cheese on top. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbling golden.
- Cool & Enjoy: Take out the delicious bread and let it cool for about 5 minutes. Slice it up and serve warm.
