For the Sauce
  • 1 can (28 oz) Canned tomatoes, diced adds a fresh, juicy element to your dish
  • 1 can (5 ½-6 oz) Tomato paste thickens the sauce and intensifies the tomato flavor
  • 1 cup Sweet onion, diced provides a lovely sweetness when cooked down
  • 2 tablespoons Garlic, minced enhances the flavor profile with its aromatic touch
  • 1-2 tablespoons Italian seasoning or taco seasoning choose based on your flavor preference
  • 1 teaspoon Salt enhances all the natural flavors
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper adds a touch of warmth and depth to the dish
For Serving
  • 10 pieces Soft flour tortillas or crunchy taco shells choose your favorite base
  • 1 cup Cheese, shredded optional, add as much or as little as you like
  • Sour cream as needed, optional

  • Tomatoes, diced optional
  • Lettuce, shredded or chopped optional

Steps to Make Tacos
  1. Season the beef pot roast generously with salt, pepper, and either Italian or taco seasoning. Coat all sides well.
  2. Sear the beef in a large pot over medium heat, adding a splash of oil. Brown the meat on all sides for about 4-5 minutes.
  3. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic in the same pot until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Combine the canned tomatoes and tomato paste into the pot, stirring well to blend all ingredients together.
  5. Cover the pot and reduce the heat to low, cooking the beef gently for around 6-8 hours, until fork-tender.
  6. Shred the cooked beef using two forks and combine it with the flavorful sauce in the pot.
  7. Serve your beef mixture in warm tortillas or crunchy taco shells, allowing family to add their favorite toppings.
