  6. Prepare the strawberry syrup by microwaving diced strawberries with granulated sugar for 1 minute; strain juice and reduce.
  7. Mix syrup with lemon juice, powdered sugar, and vanilla for icing, adjusting consistency as needed.
  8. Spread icing over cooled cookies and allow to set.
