Preparation
- In a small bowl, melt the butter with chopped tender garlic, thyme, and salt in the microwave for about 30 seconds.
- Unroll the pastry dough on a lightly floured surface and brush it evenly with the melted butter mixture.
- Grate the aged cheddar and sprinkle it evenly over the brushed pastry.
- Starting from the longer side, roll the pastry tightly into a cylinder.
- With a sharp knife, cut the roll into 1 cm thick slices and place these slices on a parchment-lined baking tray.
- Take the reserved butter and brush the tops of the pinwheels lightly.
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and bake the pinwheels for about 10 minutes or until they are golden brown and flaky.
