How to Make Orange Drizzle Traybake Cake
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C for fan ovens) and line an 8x10-inch tin with baking paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk the softened butter and caster sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Gradually whisk in the four medium eggs, mixing one at a time until the batter is smooth.
- Slowly whisk in the self-raising flour and milk into the butter-sugar mixture until smooth.
- Gently fold in the zest from one orange.
- Pour the batter into the lined tin and spread it evenly.
- Place in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.
- Cool the cake in the tin for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Mix the icing sugar with the freshly squeezed orange juice until smooth. Spread over the cooled cake.
- Once the icing has set, slice the cake into 12 pieces and serve.
