How to Make Orange Drizzle Traybake Cake
  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C for fan ovens) and line an 8x10-inch tin with baking paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk the softened butter and caster sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually whisk in the four medium eggs, mixing one at a time until the batter is smooth.
  4. Slowly whisk in the self-raising flour and milk into the butter-sugar mixture until smooth.
  5. Gently fold in the zest from one orange.
  6. Pour the batter into the lined tin and spread it evenly.
  7. Place in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.
  8. Cool the cake in the tin for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Mix the icing sugar with the freshly squeezed orange juice until smooth. Spread over the cooled cake.
  10. Once the icing has set, slice the cake into 12 pieces and serve.
