How to Make Brown Sugar Peach Cake
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- Combine the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and both sugars.
- Cream the butter and sugars: In a separate bowl, beat the unsalted butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Add granulated sugar and continue mixing until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Mix in the eggs: Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir the milk into the mixture: Gradually add the milk, mixing gently until just combined.
- Fold in the fresh peaches: Gently mix the diced peaches into the batter.
- Pour the batter into your prepared cake pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Sprinkle the topping: Mix together brown sugar and cinnamon, then evenly sprinkle this combination over the batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool the cake for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
