  • 1 lb Ground Beef Can substitute with ground turkey or plant-based meat
  • 1 medium Green Pepper Can substitute with other bell peppers or omit
  • 1 medium Onion Shallots or red onions can be used
  • 8 oz Egg Noodles Can substitute with elbow macaroni or other preferred pasta
  • 14.5 oz Diced Tomatoes Fresh tomatoes can be used if necessary
  • 1 cup Water Can replace some with broth for extra flavor
  • 2 tbsp Chili Sauce Can substitute with hot sauce or salsa
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 4 slices Bacon Can omit for a lighter dish or use plant-based bacon

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add ground beef, diced green pepper, and onion. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the beef is no longer pink and the veggies are tender, then drain any excess liquid.
  2. Stir in the egg noodles, diced tomatoes, water, chili sauce, salt, and pepper into the skillet. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and cover the skillet. Let it simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the noodles are tender.
  4. Remove the skillet from heat and top with crumbled bacon just before serving.
